Modulation is a process used in electronic and communication engineering to transmit signals, typically using radio.
Multiplier, or Double-Sideband Suppressed Carrier (DSBSC), is the simplest kind, involving the multiplication of two sinusoidal waveforms. The higher frequency one is the carrier, the lower one is the information signal.
Amplitude Modulation, as typically employed in simple radio systems, is here plotted with a modulation depth of 90%.
Frequency Modulation is here shown with a very large deviation to clearly show the modulation process.
Because all of these functions involve quite high frequency values for the carrier wave, you may get better results, particularly on a small screen or window, by increasing the resolution. Do this using the Resolution dialog.
